Vanderlye are surprisingly punk

If you gave Vanderlye a quick listen, only paying attention to the tune you might write them off as another generic indie rock band. I certainly did, they felt un-distinct from their counterparts. But upon seeing them live they have shown their potential as a voice in the political music scene that thrives in Glasgow. With some time and a harder lean into their beliefs they could be something great.
This is not to say they aren't something good now. Their music is deeply enjoyable, and has a strong standing in the niche of indie rock it currently resides in. Their most popular song Reckoning is superb and a great listen, and my personal favourite Terrible Comfort is a beautiful song that I would recommend to just about anyone. With such a strong foundation they're a band that could grow in any direction they want, and with so much potential that I'm really excited to see in the future.
