With her indie darling vibe and exciting blend of sounds Lunar June is on the horizon of stardom. Her current discography bounces around a number of genres and it's impossible to miss the icons her music is descended from, greats like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, but also more modern industry giants like Lorde and Charli xcx.

The future holds a more ambitious blend of genres. The current Lunar June sound has a clearer line drawn between folk and electronic songs. In the future she wants to work on making music that encapsulates both genres, a seemingly odd blend but I think it makes perfect sense for her sound.
Like her music inspirations, she wants to be authentic to herself. Making music with two “incompatible” genres is the next step in what seems like a long journey of carving out a space in the industry that's custom built for her.
“It's nice but also weird.”
Conforming can be an easy way into the industry but Lunar June “finds it so boring.”
This lack of conformation goes hand in hand with her other out of the box views on life. She finds it important to recognise your insignificance in life. Using this humbling feeling to inspire her song writing process.
“It's nice but also weird.” She said, describing the feeling. Telling me it helps her let go of some of her own problems.

If you want to see the enlightened Lunar June live, then you're in luck. In the new year she hopes to be touring much more. UK readers as far north as Glasgow can hope for a nearby show. She feels like the best way to connect to music is hearing it live, and I have to agree so keep an eye out for shows near you.
